Many businesses are turning to the "powerful concept" of virtualization solutions, it has been claimed.
According to Rakesh Sharma of PCQuest, the technology has become "pretty old technology for organisations to start relying on", as a number already run applications on virtual systems due to the potential cost and time savings available.
Writing for the website, he explained that virtual appliance has particularly become a popular way of using the emerging IT concept.
He said: "With this technology, one can deploy software solution in just a couple of minutes.
"It is basically a virtual hard-disk image of any virtualization software that can be deployed on any machine, with the same virtualization layer that used to run on the machine on which it was created."
Martin Harris, director of product management at Platform Computing, recently claimed that it is set to take "some time" for businesses in the UK to adopt server virtualization.
