Managed hosting 'can help many firms'

A number of companies which struggle to get to grips with IT can benefit from managed hosting services, according to an expert.

Laurens MacLure Jr, president and chief executive officer of global firm RWD Technologies, said that many organisations have problems with both installing and maintaining server-based applications.

However, the expert added that a managed hosting solution could be key to ensuring firms can access the services they need with little fuss.

"Organisations today are demanding an easy and complete solution to create, store, organise, manage and distribute learning content to their entire workforce," he explained.

Mr MacLure made the comment as RWD launched its uPerform managed hosting service, which is designed to ensure businesses have access to hosing facilities, processes and systems.

Recent research by the International Data Corporation found that the enterprise cloud server hardware market is set to be worth $12.6 billion (£8.4 billion) in the next four years.
