Computing giant IBM has announced the launch of new software designed to protect IT environments based on server virtualization.
The IBM Virtual Server Security for VMWare vSphere has been created to ensure every aspect of a virtual infrastructure, including the hypervisor, operating system, network and applications.
It includes virtual network access control, rootkit detection and virtual infrastructure monitoring, as well as segment protection to provide visibility and control across the network.
Brian Truskowski, general manager of IBM Internet Security Systems, said: "Clients are asking for solutions to secure their data centers as they move from a traditional environment to virtual deployments.
"To that end, IBM has built this solution based on the feedback of hundreds of customers looking to answer this urgent need."
Last week, Citrix launched a new solution created to support the use of desktop virtualization.
The Ready Open Desktop Virtualization program is designed to speed up the integration of such equipment into IT environments.
