IBM is recruiting a number of new resellers and partners to its revamped channel program with many taking the opportunity to sell managed services.
The company has been following on from its announcement in February to double its number of partners and also focus its services on the SME market, reports Register.
And now IBM is offering its partners the chance to organise sales for managed services which are ultimately delivered remotely.
All IBM's Expressed Managed Services are sold on a per seat and per month basis. They also include back up for distributed servers, email recovery and RFID.
Joe Senior, IBM business unit executive, said: "We've recruited over 200 new partners this year – that is partners who have bought and sold IBM kit this year who did not do so last year. We are well on track to double the number of partners this year."
IBM recently commissioned IDC to survey 160 European channel players and discovered data recovery and backup is of utmost importance for SMEs.
