IT company Dot Hill Systems has entered into a purchase agreement to acquire a storage virtualization technology provider, it has been confirmed.
The firm has unveiled plans to acquire Cloverleaf Communications as part of its efforts to enter the virtualization market, as well as areas covering management services software and unified storage.

As part of the agreement, the founders of Cloverleaf are set to join Dot Hill and boost its development experience.
Dana Kammersgard, president and chief executive officer of Dot Hill, said the addition of Cloverleaf products will complement its existing services.
He added: "This transaction is intended to quickly elevate us beyond the storage array market and establish Dot Hill as a technology leader in the higher margin storage software market."
