Software developer 2X has announced the launch of a new solution designed for use with desktop virtualization systems.
The company's VirtualDesktopServer Version 8 product is designed to allow companies to publish applications and virtual desktops, as well as improve the management of user thin client configurations.

According to the firm, the software will cut the burden of IT administration for a number of businesses by allowing centralised control of device groups and published resources.
Nikolaos Makris, chief executive officer of 2X Software, said the solution would allow administrators to "deploy and manage virtual desktop infrastructure sessions and thin clients using a single management source".
He added: "We've also included additional features, such as universal scanning, and continue to focus upon building reliable, innovative and cost-effective solutions serving businesses of all sizes."

Diptarup Chakraborti, principal research analyst at Gartner, recently told Express Computer that desktop virtualization has emerged as "a new growth opportunity" for many companies.
